Poggio Antico is a small, boutique producer of Brunello di Montalcino recognized worldwide by the independent international wine press for our consistently exceptional results over the last 25 years. We are located only 4.5 km from Montalcino, off an extremely panoramic road, which goes from Montalcino towards Grosseto. The entrance to our winery is a beautiful cypress lined driveway, with breathtaking views in every direction.
Every year we take great pleasure in welcoming visitors from all over the world, from wine industry professionals, connoisseurs, and collectors to people who are absolute novices, curious to know more about the fascinating world of wine. Here at Poggio Antico we have always believed in the importance of visiting the estate to see first hand the land where our Sangiovese grapes thrive and sense the maniacal care we take in every aspect of our production process in order to produce the highest quality Brunello possible. All of this in a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere, and that extra smile which, of course, never hurts!
Given the large number of visitors we gladly welcome annually, reservations are recommended. This allows us to provide the very best service, for which we are well known. Tours are available 7 days a week (holidays included) usually at 11:30am, 3:00pm, 4:30pm and 6:00pm. However, other times can be made available if for any reason the previously mentioned ones are inconvenient. In the event of other requests for the same day and time, guests may be joining other visitors. For this reason, it is important to arrive
on time. It is important to mention that we limit our tours to groups of no more than 8-10 people at a time, unless they are of the same party.
There is no charge whatsoever for the cellar tour, which can be conducted in Italian, English, German and Danish, and lasts about 40 minutes. When combined with a tasting,
the complete tour takes about 1.5 hours.
The tasting, which is optional, costs from 2,00 Euros up to 25,00 Euros per person, depending on which wines and how many wines are sampled from our selection: Rosso di Montalcino, Lemartine, Madre, Brunello, Altero and Brunello Riserva.
All of our products – wine, grappa and extra virgin olive oil – are available for purchase in our tasting area. Shipping, with a few exceptions, is available worldwide.
